Hello everybody,
WHEW, that was a rough ride, feels good to be back!!
I gotta tell ya if you don’t back up your info on a regular basis you’re just asking for trouble!!
Here’s a tip, spend a few $$ on a USB external hard drive and save your most important folders and files there, so in the event you have a complete system failure like I did, you’ll have your most important stuff safe, secure and accessible.
Luckily for me, 3/4 of my most important files were stored on a 2nd hard drive I had installed when I built my now dead (RIP) PC, but the 1/4 of my MOST important stuff was on the primary drive…oh well.
I’m back to about 95% capabilities, hungrier and wiser
Still trying to get my numbers together for update purchases and final sales figures, which I hope to have finished late this week or early next. Bear with me, I’m a slow poke!
Also work continues on the review of my PDA Media scouting endeavours which I hope to post this week… stay tuned!!
BTW - If you have any particular questions you’d like addressed in my review, just add a comment to this post and I’ll do my best to ensure it’s covered… if I can!!
Remember, this was a leap into the dark for me, as I’ve not used any type of media scouting tool/service, so I’ll only address findings and experiences particular to this individual service/method as I found them to be during my use.

I’m currently writing this from our local library because my main computer crashed and my backup is so slow I REFUSE to try and work from that one. All my updates and posts will be coming later this month.
I ordered a new custom built 17″ notebook (it was suppose to be my new “desktop”) but it won’t be ready until sometime between the 9th & 15th of July so I’m stuck until the old desktop (new back-up) is repaired or the “Super-Notebook” arrives.
If it wasn’t for bad luck, I’d have NO luck at all!!
Good Luck Everybody!!

BanksAuctions - Weekly Auctions Recap - Week 5 & 6
These last three weeks (and looking like the whole month), real life has gotten in the way of the eBay challenge, eBay and most everything else. I’ve been dealing with some family issues, which have me flying back and forth between California and New York.
Hopefully things will settle down so I can start earning some $$$ and stop using up my “emergency stash”, oh well that’s what it’s for right?!?
I’ve mostly been doing relisting and listings of items purchased earlier during the challenge but yet unsold.
I’ve been able to do some treasure hunting nonetheless, and will do a separate update covering my most recent finds.

BanksAuctions - Weekly Auctions Recap - Week 4
This was the lowest sales week I can remember in a long time. Well it be’s that way sometimes, but that’s just why you keep treasure hunting, the $$$ evens it self out with the person that keeps up the effort. Week 5 I didn’t have any listings as I fell ill with some sort of virus that had me down for the count so I will list everything during Week 6.
The star of week 4 was the White’s IDX PRO Metal Detector, selling for $264.00 and then really nothing else!
I must admit that the book(s) made their usual return, (My goal is to gross $20 for every $1 cost) the lot of (6) Philippa Gregory did the best at $39.00.

I’m in the process of building an Amazon selling presence and I was
wondering if being a Pro Merchant really is an advantage?
Seems like either way Amazon.com is gonna make $$$, but I want to build
high volume account and was wondering?
Another question, does anybody use the FBA service (Fulfillment By
Amazon) where you store merchandise in their fulfillment centers and
they package and ship.
Thanks in advance for any and all responses

Treasure hunting is never an exact science, the only way to conssistanly find the good stuff is to always go looking for it. Some weeks I find better stuff than other weeks, but I always find something! Not because I’m lucky or have any special tricks or quick start tips, but because I get up and put myself in places where the good stuff can be found!
I found the Singer sewing machine that I just sold for $330 bucks, on a Sunday late (after 2pm), the last day of the families 2 day sale. Saturday’s sale was during the town’s annual “village wide garage sale” event when hundreds of folks descend upon it looking for “treasures“

My hope for posting this is that everyone will expand the items on their “Look For Lists” and make lots of $$$ on eBay, Amazon or any other venue used to sell on-line.
If I can make a full-time income having this much fun, so can YOU!!
There are thousands of items found every week, all around this great country… garage & yard sales, thrift and second-hand stores, pawn shops, flea markets, antique shops, the newspapers… EVERYWHERE!!
So get out there and find the good stuff

Here are my weekly sales figures for week 3 of the “2008 Garage Sale Challenge”.
I’d like to point out that my auctions don’t end on Sunday nights, so while my “Ended” dates in my tables show the same dates as everybody else, my actual ending dates are later in that week, in most cases.

This being my son’s birthday weekend combined with a newspaper stuffed with “family sales” I had visions of a wonderful and profitable time during my “treasure hunting” over the Memorial Day weekend, so what if gas is $4.09, Friday dawned so beautiful… I was ready!!

So I’ve decided that I can’t sell books seriously without getting a media scouting tool, but which one??
I’ve looked into to ScoutPal, MediaScouter, Seller Fusion and I don’t know who else and my head is STILL spinning!!
I’m in a ural section of Upstate NY and often where I travel cell phone signals can be hard to get what should I get.
Gary, you wrote earlier that you’d not recommend anybody subscribe to the ScoutPal service because of problems you were having. Have things improved at all??
I’ve not got a clue what I need or what is best, needed… I’m really stuck!!
So here’s what I’d like to ask…
1. Who Uses What??
2. Why Do YOU Feel It’s BEST For You?
3. What’s Your Favorite Feature
Thanks in advance!!
